There is archive footage from 1972, Bobby talks about getting his big break on "Opportunity Knocks!" and shares memories of the show's host, Hughie Green. ___________________________________________________________ Follow Bobby on "TWITTER"! @thebobbycrush ___________________________________________________________ Great review in the "Edinburgh Evening News" for BOBBY CRUSH in "LIBERACE, LIVE FROM HEAVEN" at the Edinburgh Festival. "Bobby Crush is a dead ringer for Liberace. His accent and manner are so eerily spot on, one might be forgiven for believing in ghosts!" ___________________________________________________________ 4 star review in "The Times" for BOBBY CRUSH in "LIBERACE, LIVE FROM HEAVEN" at the Edinburgh Festival. " ... floats on a pink fluffy cloud of outrageous camp that in the end is absolutely irresistable. That it triumphantly does so is a tribute to Crush, who has also been working hard on copying Liberace's speech patterns and stage manner, not to mention some nifty piano playing. By some strange showbiz alchemy, Crush seems to be able to channel the love. At the end, the audience has to vote on whether he stays or goes; there is no contest" ___________________________________________________________ Thanks to everyone who has e-mailed congratulating Bobby on his recent appearance on the BBC's "Cash in the Celebrity Attic". He was thrilled to make £1855 for his chosen charity (Brinsworth House, the home for retired performers in West London) and even more pleased to learn that this figure was the highest raised by anyone this current series. We're hoping for a repeat of the programme soon and will let you know in due course. ___________________________________________________________ Several clips from a forthcoming documentary about Bobby have just been put up on "You Tube"! Go to www.youtube.com and put the words "Bobby Crush The Making of Liberace" in the search box. You'll see 3 exclusive 10 minute clips from the documentary, which is still in the editing stages but will, hopefully, be made available in full later in the year. ___________________________________________________________ BOBBY is proud to be on the recently unveiled "ROLL OF HONOUR" at the stage door of the world-famous LONDON PALLADIUM! This is the theatre where he made his professional debut at the age of 18 and has played on numerous occasions since. He is honoured to see his name alongside those of Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Marlene Dietrich, The Beatles and countless others who have also graced the stage of this wonderful venue. ___________________________________________________________ For those of you who have asked what the music is on the intro to this website, it's "BORSALINO" ... the song that Bobby took into the British top 40 in 1972, made available again on his new compilation CD "THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION". In response to friends and fans from both the U.K. and abroad, this site has been created to keep you up to date with record releases and news of forthcoming events. If you'd like to check on where I'll be appearing next, open the "DIARY" pages. To learn a little more about my career to date, click on "BIOGRAPHY". All of my albums and 45s are listed in "DISCOGRAPHY" and you can even hear clips from some of my recordings. On this page, you also have the chance to purchase some of my CDs online. In addition, I've been wading through my personal photo albums and I've found pictures from when I was starting out, right up to the present day. These you'll find in "GALLERIES". In the "REVIEWS" section, you can see what the critics had to say about my recent foray into straight theatre with the play "Liberace's Suit" and the newly added "LIBERACE, LIVE FROM HEAVEN" page features photos and reviews from my recent West End show, which I've just taken to New Zealand on an 8 week tour. Finally ... if you'd like to get in touch with me, you'll find an e-mailing form in "CONTACT". I'd love to hear from friends and fans, both old and new. Speaking of fans, I was a great admirer of the late DOROTHY SQUIRES ... a marvellous singer whose career spanned six decades. Recently, I was asked to write about my memories of Dot for a new website devoted to her life and career. You'll find my article in the "Tributes" section at www.dorothysquires.co.uk ... do take a look! Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy visiting my website and I look forward to seeing you at one of my shows soon.
